Seaside Mariana Spa and Golf Resort

The two kilometer stretch of undeveloped coastline between La Boquita and Pochomil in Nicaragua has been chosen as the site for the largest tourism development in the country’s history – the Seaside Mariana Spa and Golf Resort. This ambitious project, which will feature a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, aims to become a major tourist attraction in this beautiful Central American country.

The resort has not even broken ground yet, but is already being promoted by the Nicklaus team. After scouting out the area last year, Nicklaus was reportedly enthusiastic about making the course at the Seaside Mariana Spa and Golf Resort special and unique, and he certainly has the expertise to turn his vision into reality.

The resort will have two luxury condominium buildings and sixteen golf-course villas, with an additional 305 golf course, ocean view and riverside properties. Other features of the resort will be a spa, fitness center, beach club, swimming pools, shops, restaurants, nightlife and a boutique hotel. Condo and house owners will have the option to let out their property when they are not using it, thereby creating an income for themselves. This can be professionally done through Kemper Sports Management, the company that will be managing Seaside Mariana.

Canadian developer, Kevin Fleming, is determined to make Nicaragua Central America’s number one tourism destination through the development of a national chain of 25 world-class resorts across the country under the Grupo Mariana brand, named after his Nicaraguan wife. The new Seaside Mariana project will serve as the model for future developments planned for Granada, Leon, Managua and San Juan del Sur to begin with. Nicaragua has a wide array of tourist attractions spread across the county and Fleming would like to have a Grupo Mariana development within easy reach of the main attractions, each with the same quality of excellence. Evidently not one to do things in small measures, Fleming is aiming for Grupo Mariana developments to be the largest in the country within the next five years.

The Nicaraguan government has given the project its stamp of approval, with Tourism Minister, Mario Salinas, calling the Seaside Mariana Spa and Golf Resort “one of the premier investment projects in Nicaragua” which meets all the requirements for government support.

Many of the condos and golf course lots have already been sold off-plan. Having the endorsement of Jack Nicklaus and Kemper Sports on the project is proving to be an incentive for Americans to invest in the Seaside Mariana Spa and Golf Resort. Certainly, there are very exciting times ahead for tourism in Nicaragua, as more and more people realize what a beautiful and fascinating country it is.
