The Ortiz Gurdián Foundation Art Center is located in two old colonial structures that have been restored. One building exhibits art in chronological order, guiding you through centuries of artistic genius. It begins with art works dating back to the 16th century and brings you through history to the contemporary arts. This outstanding Nicaraguan art gallery’s collection is made up mostly of pieces lent from other galleries. Certain works also come from individuals who took part in national art bienales. When can you visit the Ortiz Gurdián Center from Tuesday to Saturday at 10:30 am until 6:30 pm as well as on Sunday from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm.
The Claro Oscuro Art Gallery is relatively small but just as rewarding to view. Here you can examine brightly colored paintings by young Nicaraguans.
