Traveling to the Island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. [01:23]
Isla De Ometepe (Nicaragua) Price for ferry: 60 Cordoba Time to Island: 1 hour to 1 ½ hour Hotels and food is very cheap on the Island. Im not a big fan of Islands, but people kept telling me while I was staying in San Juan del Sur that I should have a look around on the island of Ometepe. So I caught a 40 minutes bus ride to Rivas, Nicaragua and jumped in a cab (20 Cordoba) to the ferry terminal of the Isla De Ometepe. The hour-long ferry ride cost me 60 Cordoba (3 USD) and was very pleasant. You can ride on the top deck or below in an air-conditioned room and watch a movie. The lake is usually pretty rough from high winds and dont be surprised if your stomach feels a little queasy. Once you arrive on the Island of Ometepe in Moyogalpa you can jump on a local bus and head to your destination if not staying in Moyogalpa. I was staying in Altagracia and the bus ride can take from 1 hour to 1 ½ hour, depending on how many people or cargo they are hauling.

The horses of Nicaragua. [00:47]
Walking through the market in Rivas, Nicaragua I came upon a horse terminal in which you can rent the services of these men with their horses. They use horses and oxens to haul about anything, but mostly for hauling firewood and fresh milk. In San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua they will come by your house with fresh milk and you come out with your container and they ladle the amount of fresh milk that you would like to purchase.
