Laguna de Apoyo, Natural Reserve, Nicaragua [01:01]
Laguna de Apoyo is a natural reserve in Nicaragua between Masaya and Granada. It was designated in 1991 as an area of protection by the Ministry of the Environment and Resources. It is a crater lake formed tens of thousands of years ago and is an area visited by tourists. Swimming, kayaking, para-glyding and hiking are just some of the activities enjoyed by tourists each year. Apoyo de Laguna is one of the places visited on Nicatour Group's retirement tour.

Semana Santa at the Nicaragua-Costa Rica Border [00:59]
Semana Santa (Holy Week) is a great time for holiday in Central America. Unfortunately there are several thousand people who think the same thing. The Nicaragua-Costa Rica border at Penas Blancas is incredibly hot, sweaty and packed with people. Of all the border crossings I've done, this was the longest...around 4 hours total to cross.

Semana Santa in Granada, Nicaragua 2012 [02:39]
Visited beautiful Granada, Nicaragua for Semana Santa (Holy Week.) This parade is supposed to be a sad, respectful event for the death of Jesus. Unfortunately the band sounds like they haven't practiced since last Semana Santa and they've been drinking all night. What results is a cacophony of 'sad fail trombones' and Stewie Griffen's 'fat guy tuba.'
