The hour-long ferry ride cost me 60 Cordoba (3 USD) and was very pleasant. You can ride on the top deck or below in an air-conditioned room and watch a movie. The lake is usually pretty rough from high winds and don't be surprised if your stomach feels a little queasy.

Masachapa, Nicaragua, December, 2012 A little village near our Barcelo Montelimar Beach Resort. We had a wonderful day trip to the village....enjoy the video. We were invited to our new friend Frank's oceanside house and restaurant and he made it possible for us to buy a fresh Red Snapper (4 lb.) from the village. Frank's house lady fried it with rice and beans plus fried some plantation (special banana). It was delicious!
