Laguna de Apoyo, Natural Reserve, Nicaragua [01:01]
Laguna de Apoyo is a natural reserve in Nicaragua between Masaya and Granada. It was designated in 1991 as an area of protection by the Ministry of the Environment and Resources. It is a crater lake formed tens of thousands of years ago and is an area visited by tourists. Swimming, kayaking, para-glyding and hiking are just some of the activities enjoyed by tourists each year. Apoyo de Laguna is one of the places visited on Nicatour Group's retirement tour.

Ep 23 Traveling With Dogs Internationally - How & What To Do? - Veterinarian Visit [09:40]
Our dogs Bailey & Roxy will be traveling with us around the world. That adds another layer of complexity and planning but it is well worth it. We will be initially driving to Guatemala through Mexico, then we'll be staying the Central American countries (Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama) We had to visit their veterinarian to get current on their vaccinations, get their microchips (that's for our trip to the European Union next year) and we got the export import forms. Bailey & Roxy were real troopers and we're on the way to finalizing all the requirements. They will join our white collar vagabond lifestyle!

Grant Ramsey spent six months in Nicarauga in 2002 taking photos of the vibrant and active culture in what is considered the second poorest counrtry in the western hemisphere. Ramsey took phots of citizens and their daily lifestyle. These are just a few of photos from an exhibit at the Chicago Cultural Center in Septemeber 2010.
