St. Mary's Parish Festival 2011 Social Xolotlan Dancing Group.mpg [11:41]
The annual St. Mary's Parish Festival in honour of Our Lady of Freedom (Maria SS. Della Libera) is held on the first Sunday of August. It consists of Mass in the small church where the Italian community gathers along with others from throughout the city of London, Ontario and surroundings followed by mostly Italian entertainment into the night. It is like spending a day in Italy without ever leaving London. The hospitality of the parish is widely known. In short a great day for all to enjoy. THe Xolotlan Dancing Group thrilled the crowd with the dances of Nicaragua.

dancers were simulating rape or some kind of conquest. After all, there was El Diablo (The Devil), El Muerto (Death), and other unsavory characters throwing the "women" around. (I am still not sure if all the dancers were male; certainly the one dressed as The Enormous Lady In the Red Dress was).
