We have been catching a ton of rooster fish averaging 30 lbs. on live bait. And few 50+ pounders have also been caught recently. Sailfish, Dorado, along with football sized yellowfin are being caught inshore, so we have not been offshore in a while. It is almost the end of the season for sails, dorado, and tuna in the south due to the papagallos winds that tend to blow from December to March. Cold water moves inshore during these months bringing in broom-tail grouper averaging 25 lbs. There are still good numbers of roosters, jacks, bonitos, and sierra macks still hang around for light tackle fishing. i don't do any diving, but a couple guys do.
i am not too familiar with what they shoot.
probably jacks, snapper, parrot fish, roosterfish, mackeral, dorado, wahoo ... anything that swims
water can get very clear, but usually it is green not blue
every once in a while we'll get a blue water current
