House Alliance finds out fates of Wildman
A U.S. Pedophile also broke the law in Costa Rica?

The North American, Roy Adriam Wildman, of 75 years of age, accused by the crime of corruption of minors in Granada, was in Costa Rica a total of seven times in the previous period of his arrest in the city of Granada, thus the organism House Alliance fears that the prisoner is tie in the infantile sexual operation between Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Although not yet it has been verified until the moment that has committed similar acts in the neighboring country, in declarations to average ticos, Brushes Harris, Regional Director for Latin America of House Alliance, agency of protection of the childhood, fears that a relation between the sexual operation of the childhood in Nicaragua and Costa Rica exists.

"In several cases investigated in Costa Rica, the foreign person has fled from the country later to initiate illicit activities against the Nicaraguan childhood", said Harris.

HE HAS ENTERED And LEFT SEVERAL TIMES

According to a Costa Rican newspaper, the name of the defendant appears in repeated opportunities at the listings of the Main directorate of Migracio'n and Extranjería of Costa Rica and sample that at least seven times in the last entered that country three years.

Only last year, Wildman visited Costa Rica in three different opportunities and in one of those he stayed in that territory almost two months and means, leaving course to Nicaragua the 12 of December of the 2002, later to be arrested.

Meanwhile in Nicaragua, Evelyn Palm, Coordinator of the Office of Legal Support of House Alliance, it indicated that it would not be the first time that persecuted people to commit this type of crimes cross the border.

"This happened to a US dentist who to commit crimes against the childhood in Costa Rica crossed the border Nicaragua, but soon was captured by the Costa Rican authorities".

JUDICIAL TECNICISMOS To ITS FAVOR

The Lic. Palm criticized that Wildman solely was accused of corruption of minors, by some tecnicismos that left in the air the kidnapping and violation crime, while the infantile pornography is not punished by the Nicaraguan penal code are not to strong.

The retired boat captain, Wildman (last name) had locked up a 13 year old girl against her will in his house, where was great amount of pornográficas photographies of the girl, other minors and adult women, as well as videos and rolls without revealing, but are not known if all the photographies were made solely in Nicaragua.

At the moment he is a prisoner in the jails of Granada and he has predicted that the 12 of this month the case between the town and him will hear oral judgment.

The Solicitor of the Childhood, Carlos Emilio Lopez, has declared who is necessary the application of all the weight of the law to people who abuse the childhood. For that reason one was against house arrest for Wildman, before the pleas of the defense that was a old one of foreign origin.

El estadounidense Roy Adriam Wildman, de 75 años de edad, acusado por el delito de corrupción de menores en Granada, estuvo en Costa Rica un total de siete veces en el período anterior de su arresto en la ciudad de Granada, por lo cual el organismo Casa Alianza teme que el detenido esté vinculado en la explotación sexual infantil entre Nicaragua y Costa Rica.

Aunque aún no se ha comprobado hasta el momento que haya cometido actos similares en el vecino país, en declaraciones a medios ticos, Bruce Harris, Director Regional para América Latina de Casa Alianza, agencia de protección de la niñez, teme que exista una relación entre la explotación sexual de la niñez en Nicaragua y Costa Rica.

"En varios casos investigados en Costa Rica, la persona extranjera ha huido del país para después iniciar actividades ilícitas contra la niñez nicaragüense", dijo Harris.

HA ENTRADO Y SALIDO VARIAS VECES

Según un diario costarricense, el nombre del acusado aparece en repetidas oportunidades en los listados de la Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería de Costa Rica y se muestra que por lo menos siete veces entró a ese país en los últimos tres años.

Sólo el año pasado Wildman visitó Costa Rica en tres oportunidades y en una de esas duró en ese territorio casi dos meses y medio, saliendo rumbo a Nicaragua el 12 de diciembre del 2002, para posteriormente ser arrestado.

Mientras tanto en Nicaragua, Evelyn Palma, Coordinadora de la Oficina de Apoyo Legal de Casa Alianza, indicó que no sería la primera vez que gente perseguida por cometer este tipo de delitos se cruce la frontera.

"Esto sucedió con un dentista norteamericano que por cometer delitos contra la niñez en Costa Rica cruzó la frontera con Nicaragua, pero luego fue capturado por las autoridades ticas".

TECNICISMOS JUDICIALES A SU FAVOR

La Lic. Palma criticó que Wildman únicamente fue acusado de corrupción de menores, por algunos tecnicismos que dejaron en el aire el delito de violación y de rapto, mientras la pornografía infantil no es penada por el código penal nicaragüense.

El retirado capitán de barco de apellido Wildman tenía encerrada contra su voluntad a una niña de 13 años en su casa, donde se encontró gran cantidad de fotografías pornográficas de la niña, de otras menores y de mujeres adultas, así como videos y rollos sin revelar, pero se desconoce si todas las fotografías fueron realizadas únicamente en Nicaragua.

Actualmente se encuentra detenido en las cárceles de Granada y se tiene previsto que el 12 de este mes el caso entre a juicio oral.

El Procurador de la Niñez, Carlos Emilio López, ha declarado que es necesaria la aplicación de todo el peso de la ley a personas que abusan de la niñez. Por eso se opuso drásticamente a que se diera casa por cárcel a Wildman, ante los alegatos de la defensa que era un anciano de origen extranjero.
