There were so many topics to speak on in this Torah reading (Yitro). I had a hard time picking a topic, but after prayer, I was given a direction. I would like you to see what I saw within this Torah reading.

Turn to Shemot 20:2 "Ani HASHEM Elokeihem" "I am the L-rd your G-D, who brought you out of the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt), out of the house of bondage." In the Hebrew Ani HaShem ...." is taken from the first commandment! You need to believe that G-d is G-d and not only that, you need to believe that He is the one true G-d before anything else can follow. If you do not believe that G-d is and that He is the One True G-d nothing matters, since the commandments that follow are based upon this first commandment. "I believe that He is," is the root that supports all the commandments.

As I understand it, the word Mitzrayim is almost identical to the word meitzarim, which means straits or limitations. Thus as I see it, by living in Mitzrayim Israel was not able to fully do the work of G-d. Especially the work G-d had intended for them for His glory. The commandment to believe in G-d is basically the starting point of everything in understanding and obeying G-d. When you say "I believe in G-d", you therefore need to know what pleases Him from His word, not just what "you feel" about Him, since that is what new age is all about, feelings. You must go by what is already written, and nothing else.

Later on as the L-rd revealed Himself through progressive revelation we come to see that the Eternal One will send a Anointed One (Mashiach), and when the Mashiach finally appears, He comes in the Power of His Father, and speaks His words: "I did not come to abolish the Torah nor the Prophets, but to do what it says," said Yeshua. In the DuTillet Hebrew of this verse in Matthew, the word used to explain these words of Mashiach as He ends this sentence is Hash'lim which means that He brought "Completion, Peace, Wholeness" to the Torah, He dod not abolish it!

Rambam (one of the greatest Jewish sages), as he wrote in his 13 principles of faith says: Ani Ma'amin be'emunah shleima beviat HaMashiach ani ma'amin." Which means: "I believe with complete faith in the coming of the Messiah." So as we can see as well, the belief in Mashiach is a very important thing, not just a added belief, but a fundamental belief.

I could talk to you about all the commandments of G-d all day long. We can actually talk about many things from the Scriptures that we read this week. But the commandments apart from believing in the Holy One and the One He sent, that is Mashiach, the one who would bring wholeness to the whole Bible, our Ketubah (marriage contract), is a pivotal point of our faith.

Thus: "Ani HASHEM Elokeihem" and "Ani Ma'amin be'emunah shleima" are tied together. When we know by scriptural reasoning that the Mashiach has already came (Daniel 9), and that belief /trust in Him are essentials, then we should by faith act upon it.

Now, when you have a true revelation of G-d, then you have your calling. You can read that in the Haftarah for this week, Yeshiyahu / Isaiah 6.1-7.6; 9.5-6. One of the things that we can draw from these Scriptures that can be tied to what I have been saying here, is the vision Yeshiyahu had. In this vision, Yeshiyahu sees HaShem sitting on His throne. The whole point of this passage is to let us know that Yeshiyahu had a revelation of who HaShem is, the Supreme King. Similar event to this happens also to Yermiyahu (Jeremiah) and Yechezekel (Ezekiel). It also happened in my life, and it should happen to every believer who has been called into G-d's service (that is all true believers). Perhaps the revelation will not be quite like the biblical prophet's, but it will be some form of revelation.

After believing in the first commandment, and placing faith in G-d's Messiah ( as revealed from Scripture ), our calling/revelation should follow. Then you need to act upon it, you need to do what G-d told you to do. We can draw this conclusion from Mattityahu / Mathew 28:18. Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 28:19 Therefore go, and make talmidim (disciples) of all nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

"Every thing that He commanded us." That is Torah! This is why I see these two related: "Ani HASHEM Elokeihem" and "Ani Ma'amin be'emunah shleima" They go hand in hand, side by side. You need to believe in G-d, you need to believe in His Messiah, then you get your calling, and then you go forth and preach the Good News of Mashiach to the whole world.
