Hola,
I am a fotojournalist from montreal, and will soon be heading to Nicaragua to take a closer look at a crisis that has been happening for some time, but gets little media coverage here in the North; that is the present coffee crisis and its effect on the local campesinos. I am wondering if anybody would have any informatiomn regarding the situation, or if anybody knows of good websites/publicatons where i can learn more. i have been following nicaraguan daily papers for some time now, but i find there is still not a lot of info. Also if anybody knows, or works with local organisations that are involved with campesinos in Nicaragua that i can be in touch with while i am in Nicaragua i would greatly appreciate it. Pueden contestar en espanol tambien. Gracias y hasta pronto Vincenzo |

Yeah, Bolanos denies a lot of things,
he states that no one has died from hunger yet... that was Aug 2001... as of sept 2002 at least 14 people have died of hunger and mal nutrition... whereas bolanos his cronies make off with millions............... |

(I posted this on your other thread, too.)
Here is a good article, but it's probably what you already know. If I find more info I'll post it. http://www.thepioneer.com/internatio...t14_hunger.htm |
