information on sandinistas history! please help me understand!

ok shine a light on me. i left Nicaragua when i was 5 (mojado) so i don';t really know anything(i know that's not a ligit excuse but ..) well i want to know why people are so hostile towards the sandinista party and what they did to the economy while they were in rule of it..please be objective include your opinions but over all consider objectivity.thanks to all who respond..
