I surf and I'm visiting Nicaragua for the first time.32yr. old S.W.M. I am flying into Managua where I wish to purchase a used vehicle so that I can tour this country. I plan to stay for about a month surfing and looking for property to purchase. I will be staying mainly in Las Salinas and looking for property between there and San Juan del Sur. I'm looking to make friends with good people.I speak very little spanish. Can anyone help me find a car or truck. I don't care how bad it looks, as long as it runs well. I also do not wish to spend alot of money on the vehicle. I have a friend who helped with orphanages down there that I am trying to find as well. His name is Paul Boright. Thank you! I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Your visit
I would suggest you spend some time at Ricardos in San Juan del Sur in order to pick up local, current information. You best bet about a car is buy one in Managua because there is the best selection and prices. There are a lot of surfers in SJDS. The website is http://www.sanjuandelsur.org.ni. Ricardos is closed on Tuesdays. Another place to check out if the Irish Pub in Managua. It is only open at night. Please spend some time shopping around for property and do not purchase on this your first trip. Visit with as many ex-pats as you can. The more research you do the better deal you will make. Good luck.
