I drove from Los Angeles to San Juan del Sur in a Ford pick-up and towed a 20ft boat last month. I returned to LA via air to finish up some business and will return the end of the month (March). I am going into business offering SCUBA diving packages. At any rate forget the horror stories about driving through CA. I found the drive just incredible and beautiful with only minor irritations. I think I'll write a good article to dispell some of,if not all the myths.
Anyone have a contact for publishing?

Thanks,

We drove from Savannah Georgia to Managua and the drive was great. We did it with 2 kids a 5 and a 7 year old. I recomend it to others who want a great trip.

Driving To Nicaragua

Wanted to hear about more details on driving to Nicaragua from Atlanta, Georgia. Was thinking of spending 3 weeks in December. Let me know the plus and minus of said trip. Was also considering option of flying and renting a car in Managua.

The cost can vary, depending on gas cost and the cosrt at each border. Since your car will be registered in the U.S. it is more time comsuming and expensive at the borders. But it still sin't bad. It is also much easier now than it was when we made our first drive down in 1999 from Savannah Georgia.
