My name is Oğuz Büyükahraz. I am a 24 year old Turkish poet. I write my poems in Turkish and translate some of them in English if I can.
Şiir'ing English Şiir is the Turkish word for poem. I don't know so much about poetry in English. So I translate my poems just as I write them in Turkish. This makes me feel my translations are still şiirs than poems. Because of this, I call my translation action "Şiir'ing English". ...... I didn't know what love is My poems taught me Then i told what love is In my poems 1. Nuclear energy Fission and fusion Antimatter energy New supplies of food And the speed of light To go to the stars They shall wait hundreds of years For the enough technology But it is only your love It is enough for me 2. A gazelle Loved a lion She would Die for him 3. My heart is not at my left side At which side of me you are My heart is there 4. How can i like roses Since there aren't any With the colour of your eyes 5. Do you remember You were telling me that The future of our love was As bright as the moon Yes it was But not as the full moon As how bright was the new moon Was the future of our love as bright http://www2.gantep.edu.tr/~ob12811/index2.html I have a web site with my poems in Turkish, English, Czech and Armenian. I would like to have translations in Spanish and Portugese, too. Can anybody help me? Thank you. |
