Education: Training and Funding??

Hello all! Irish newbie here.

I'll be taking part in the construction of a new school in Nicaragua (Somoto region) this July/August. As part of raising awareness and funding for our project I'm looking for detailed information on the Nicaraguan education system - specifically, all possible information on teacher training (mainly primary level, but also other levels) and a detailed breakdown of government funding for all levels of education.

For example, what would the route be for someone wishing to become a teacher in Nicaragua? What training is involved? As % of government expenditure spending on education is apparently ~15% and ~3% of GDP, would this be accurate? Can someone tell me the breakdown of this and where this funding goes? Is the % of GDP high enough?

Can anyone help me? Can anyone direct me to websites which may contain this information? For a non-fluent Spanish speaker would this be difficult information to obtain?

All information is appreciated. Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is not posted in the appropriate place!

I am even more highly interested about ESE Education. Especially for inclusion to children with disabilities. I am a parent advocate for children with down syndrome in Miami, FL.. And fight hard to have our children included as much as possible in public schooling as well as in the community..
