Education: Training and Funding??
Hello all! Irish newbie here.
I'll be taking part in the construction of a new school in Nicaragua (Somoto region) this July/August. As part of raising awareness and funding for our project I'm looking for detailed information on the Nicaraguan education system - specifically, all possible information on teacher training (mainly primary level, but also other levels) and a detailed breakdown of government funding for all levels of education.
For example, what would the route be for someone wishing to become a teacher in Nicaragua? What training is involved? As % of government expenditure spending on education is apparently ~15% and ~3% of GDP, would this be accurate? Can someone tell me the breakdown of this and where this funding goes? Is the % of GDP high enough?
Can anyone help me? Can anyone direct me to websites which may contain this information? For a non-fluent Spanish speaker would this be difficult information to obtain?
All information is appreciated. Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is not posted in the appropriate place!
