Thumbs up

Hello,
I am looking for info to contact an Orphanage in Masaya area in Nicaragua. A group will be in Nica in the near future and are funded by University grants.

After things move forward, they will be returning about every three months with college students for other projects with this orphanage.

Please, no online money sharks or people looking for a fee claiming they are helping others. You are not going to get one. This is a REAL thing and we don't need you taking advantage of these schools. In short NO "Advisor's"

Any contacts in Masaya area is welcome.

Thanks for you help!

Orphanage in Masaya

I have a contact who knows Masaya. I have been told there is an orphanage called Ave Maria, run by nuns. They take in children off the street..orphans or not orphans...children at risk..but for the day only. They only keep a few children at night. My contact advises not to ship supplies to Nicaragua, but rather, send down a representative(s)with money and buy supplies locally. Take some photos of the children, school, etc and see what your efforts will bring. My friend has a local who would be happy to be interpreter if you need one. If you need additional let me know. I am in Cape Canaveral and divide my time between here and San Juan del Sur. Regards..John

Smile Thanks !!

I will send a note down with the name of that school. My friends in Masaya know of one too. Maybe it's the same one. This has been a good day for the Grant people as three people have contacted with some info THANKS !!

Yes, it's to much trouble going through the customs right now so. These guys are well funded through the university's.
I am lucky unough to be able to let them use a house in Masaya on their trips.

We should be there in October. If these guys like what they see and feel they can help, it could turn into a good thing for the kids. Every three months they will return with University students looking to do work.

Will you be in San Juan Oct 5 to 11th?
My freinds will come back to the states but I will be in Masaya for the rest of the month..

THANKS FOR THE INFO !!!

October?

At this time I don't know if I will be back in Nicaragua in October or not. We'll see. Depends on a project I am working on.If you go to San Juan and I am not there I can connect you with folks. In the meantime feel free to email me at sanjuanjohn@yahoo.com if you or your friends want additional info. Sometime I don't have the info but I can find someone who does. Please bring books in Spanish if you can. The library at San Juan del Sur can use them and there are other places who could use them. Until later....John

Talking Lions and Rotary

We were able to get Lions and Rotary of Masaya, Nicaragua and Athens, Georgia to work together. With hope and some work, we should be able to secure funds for the Orphanage.

This is a fine on going project with a great staff for support. The Orphanage is in Masatepi (spelling) not to far from Masaya.

This is an exciting addition for the building. We will start work in March. All are welcome to show up for the build and the opening.

See you all there !!
