Barcenas family

Thank you for your reply to my post. My aunt was Margarita Barcenas, she married Jacinto Velez, called Chinto for short. Both died many years ago in Managua. I don't know if this ties up with the family you are researching please let me know if it does. Their youngest daughter was called Peggy but it could have been a diminutive of Margarita.I wish I had more time to spare to research more on my family, I find it a fascinating hobby and would like to leave a well documented family tree for my grandchildren. In this turbulent and changing world it is good to know where your roots are.

I have a family tree of the Barcenas family because my grandfather was Jose Mejia Barcenas. I have Camilo Barcenas who was mayor of Managua and some of his descendant including Jose and Alfredo Barcenas, who are my friends. However, I have not be able to link Camilo to my family tree. I am sure they are related because Barcenas is a small family with only 721 persons registered to vote in October 2001 carried Barcenas as first or second surname.
If you provide enough information to link Camilo Barcenas to my family tree, I will send you a complete copy of my tree. This requirement is because I do not give away my family tree unless the person is related and because I want to complete my tree.

Camilo Barcenas, my mother's father was ' Alcalde 'of Managua. He married Maria Bermudes. They had 6 children. Gustavo..married in USA, Edith. 1 son Charles.Later separated. wife and son stayed in USA Gustavo last known inS.America.
Maria-Teresa..married Scotsman, David Buchanan Wylie,date August 1932. 2 children David and Mercedes Jean born Nicaragua.
Carmen and Amanda..never married.
Margarita Graciela..married Jacinto Velez.4 children. Jacinto, Irene, Roberto and Peggy.
Camilo Barcenas..married Margarita Levy. Many chidren.Camilo, Ivel and other names I can't remember.
My mother Maria-Teresa's generation are all deceased.
Does this tie in with your research?

Please use the two Spanish surname for each person and try to establesh the relationship between the persons you mention, not the relationship with you because I do not your surnames.
The only useful information in your message is that Camilo, Carmen, Margarita and Amanda are siblings. I am assuming they are Barcenas, but you did not establish that for sure in your message. Do you know their second surname, this means the mother maiden surname?
For example, I am Jose Mejia Lacayo: Mejia is my father surname and Lacayo my mother maiden surname. I carry both in Nicaragua.

With your information, I was able to complete the information about your family branch, but I am still missing the link between Camilo Barcenas Rocha married to Maria Bermudez Chavarria and the rest of my tree that goes back to Jose Antonio Barcenas Velarde, born in Spain and married to a Nicaraguan.
By generation, Camilo should be number 6 in my family tree. He could be the son of Camilo Barcenas Alvarez born on July 26, 1835 and died of cholera on July 9, 1855; or Joaquin Barcenas Alvarez born December 15, 1838 who lived in Managua. I do not have information about his marriage. But my guess is that your branch is from Joaquin.
That is the only information I am missing to tie your branch to my tree.
Does the name Joaquin Barcenas Alvarez sound familiar to you? Even I have a photo of Joaquin taken from an old book about the city of Managua.

If Joaquin is your ancestor, then Joaquin and my great grandmother are siblings.
