I am new to Nicaragua.com and have just seen your posting regarding the bar in San Juan. Where are you at in finding a partner? My wife, a Nicaraguan and I will be returning to Managua by the end of the year. If you have any interest in doing business let me know. Thank you...Sageview2

Exclamation Investment Fraud

Investment Fraud

If the "opportunity" appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Beware of promises to make fast profits.
Do not invest in anything unless you understand the deal.
Don't assume a company is legitimate based on "appearance" of the website.
Be leery when responding to invesment offers received through unsolicited email.
Be wary of investments that offer high returns at little or no risk.
Independently verify the terms of any investment that you intend to make.
Research the parties involved and the nature of the investment.
Be cautious when dealing with individuals outside of your own country.
Contact the Better Business Bureau to determine the legitimacy of the company.

Some Tips to Avoid the Advanced Fee Schemes:

If the offer of an "opportunity" appears too good to be true, it probably is. Follow common business practice. For example, legitimate business is rarely conducted in cash on a street corner.
Know who you are dealing with. If you have not heard of a person or company that you intend to do business with, learn more about them. Depending on the amount of money that you intend to spend, you may want to visit the business location, check with the Better Business Bureau, or consult with your bank, an attorney, or the police.
Make sure you fully understand any business agreement that you enter into. If the terms are complex, have them reviewed by a competent attorney.
Be wary of businesses that operate out of post office boxes or mail drops and do not have a street address, or of dealing with persons who do not have a direct telephone line, who are never "in" when you call, but always return your call later.
Be wary of business deals that require you to sign nondisclosure or noncircumvention agreements that are designed to prevent you from independently verifying the bona fides of the people with whom you intend to do business. Con artists often use noncircumvention agreements to threaten their victims with civil suit if they report their losses to law enforcement.

Not a Valid Group

Dear Members and moderator:

This is an attemp to clear things up with this so called NicaWachGroup. They have contacted employers of mine in Nicaragua with SLANDEROUS comments and they hide behind the group name. My current employer CRRAS from the Atlantic side of Nicaragua was kind enought to send me the communication with this group. Please read from the bottom up. They contacted my clients as they are also members of my news group called Nicaragua Outback, they TRY to railroad my business all the time , BUT hide behind this name...If they are so transparent why don't they provide namesfor themselves? Addresses, like I do?
Please read below the communications with my clients and them

Jorge Giraldez-Benard
Phone Number 011 505 8258505 in Managua
Offices in Managua as well 011 505 2682874

Subject: false references of Jorge Giraldez Benard
To: "Sam Thomas" <nicawatchgroup@yahoo.com>

Thank you Mr. Thomas,

We have worked with Mr. Giraldez for many many years and yes we know about Mr.Peter Tsokos, but Mr. Giraldez had nothing to do with the purchases of these islands. He did in fact bring the Greek citizen to our shores.

Ref: Name changes, for 12 years we have known Mr. Giraldez and we have the same name on our file, we have asked him to do many things for our government, in fact I will ask him about you!?

We work closely with the Commercial section of the US Embassy in Managua and again you are mistaken about Mr. Giraldez. There is a very detailed record of Mr. Giraldez actively there although there seems to be no record on your watchgroup or Sam Thomas, that could be found, but we have noted it..

Please, tell me more about whom YOU are. Phone number and credentials

Awaiting your urgent reply,

cc. attache U.S. foreign affairs officer MGA

There is some question regarding a person that is using your group as a reference contact. Jorge Giraldez Benard has been linked to have been working with Peter Tsokos in the selling of native lands and Islands on the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua as well as several "Investments" and Charity Programs that have never come to pass. Reports have been sent to several offices with the Nicaraguan Government. Mr. Giraldez Benard has claimed in the past that he works closely with the United States Embassy however, after contacting the US Embassy in Managua they had no record of him.

Many groups are very honest and are in the best interest of the people. We are not in anyway concluding that CRAAS is working with Mr. Giraldez Benards many cons or land dealings. Just that you would be best served if you were to contact any and all of this persons reverences directly. Make sure they truly are whom they say they are by contacting officials in Managua.

By doing a google search of Jorge Giraldez Benard you will find that his company name seem to change every six months as well as his product.

We wish you the very best in your honest efforts.

NWG
