Tourism awakens US investors Interests

A hundred of North American investors met in Nicaragua to learn about projects in areas like tourism and real estate. C

The tourism and real estate were the sectors that interested a group of North American investors who schedule appointments this weekend in a hotel of Managua, under the auspice of Pro Nicaragua, International Living and the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (Intur).

The Nicaraguan institutions and the North American showed the group of 75 investors nearly 220 projects that will be developed in areas like the forest tourism, real estate and development.

Raul Calvet, civil employee of the Intur, assured that the event was mounted to attract investors in different areas from the country, mainly in the sector tourism, where it affirms is a good amount of opportunities at Nicaragua.

It emphasized that International Living is an organization who already has made investments in the sector of real estate in Nicaragua, fundamentally in places like Granada and San Juan of the South, in the search to develop the tourism.

Prioritized projects

They indicated that there are about 100 projects prioritized by the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, although all do not require the support of investors because they already are being developed.

Juan Carlos Pereira, Executive Director of Pro Nicaragua, emphasized the importance of attracting investors to facilitate the development of the country by means of organizations like International Living, and added that the institution that promotes has already brought investment of projects of about 35 million dollars, mainly in the textile area.

For the current year, it assured that foreign companies that the homologous services of Nicaraguan contract in subjects like audits, accounting, international trade and communications, among others have seted out as it puts to manage to impel projects by value of 50 million dollars in areas like tourism and services of export, attracting.

Interest to contract services

Pereira indicated that the advantage for foreign companies in contracting homologous Nicaraguan obtaining enterprise services is in the reduction of costs by infrastructure and payment of personnel.

The executive director of Pro Nicaragua emphasized that with that system the human capital that conforms 90 thousand college students would be trained in better form, obtaining work seats that at the moment are nonexistent in the country.

Another area in which the investors showed interest was in the production and purchase of organic foods, sector in which it affirms that Nicaragua could have certain advantages, like the proximity to the United States.

As a result of the meeting in Managua, five companies have entered into an agreement to develope tourism, Roads and housing, and medical attention facilities to five regions, Granada, Masaya, Juigalpa, Puerto Cabezas and Bluefields. Three are Nicaraguan-US joint venture corporation., one an NGO from Germany-US and another a Washington D.C. based Corporation.

The arrival of the medical equipment and Meds we have been working on since last year was successful.
All shipments were received and accounted for.
The Prefab housing projects 2nd phase was also approved and have been submitted to the Bank for addtional funding.

The RAAN community still needs to approve both hospital and housing projects proposed by us with the support of New Orleans medicle training center.
