Crab Soup Festival on Corn Island

The Crab Soup Festival - Fiesta del Cangrejo - takes place on the Big and Little Corn Islands – Islas del Maíz - at the end of August. The Crab Soup Festival is one of the main festivals held here at the beautiful Corn Islands. The islands are situated in the Caribbean and are relatively isolated from the rest of the world.

Xiomara Blandino – Miss Nicaragua 2007

On March 17, 2007 the beauty pageant, ‘Miss Nicaragua 2007’ was hosted in the tropical capital of Managua at the elegant Ruben Dario National Theater. It was here that the Latin beauty, Xiomara Blandino (22), captivating the crowds and judges alike and ultimately won the adoration of all at this vibrant event in Nicaragua. Xiomara Blandino was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2007 and also received the titles for ‘Nice Legs’ and ‘Face of Avon'.

Tourists Flock to Casinos in Nicaragua

The nightlife in Nicaragua does not end with the bustling streets filled with restaurants, cafés and nightclubs. Visitors are also able to try their lucky hands in the casinos in Nicaragua. Casinos represent the only legal form of gambling in the country and presently, there are ten casinos located in just three Nicaraguan cities in Nicaragua: Managua, Masava and Bluefields.
