Masaya Welcomes Visitors to its Annual Three Month Patron Saint Festivities
The Nicaraguan city of Masaya, fondly referred to as the “City of Flowers” and also known as the “Cradle of Nicaraguan Folklore”, is well into the swing of its three month-long patron saint festivities. Starting on 2 September with the celebration of the 169th birthday of the city, merrymaking will continue until December, incorporating traditional folkloric celebrations and Nicaragua’s national independence holidays, as well as local religious rituals and festivities in honor of the patron saint, San Jeronimo.

Surfs Up at Playa Colorado
Located at the point where Nicaragua’s magnificent Rio Colorado meets the ocean, Playa Colorado is an absolute surfer’s paradise. This beautiful stretch of beach has been quite a well-kept secret among surfers, but as Nicaragua is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination and as surfers are beginning to realize what the country’s coastline has to offer, Playa Colorado is attracting both professional and leisure surfers from far and wide. Of course, surfing is not the only attraction of Playa Colorado, but for the majority of surfers all that matters is the quality and consistency of the swell, and by all accounts it is exceptional.

Discover the Natural Wonders of Moyogalpa
Known by some as the Gateway to Ometepe, Moyogalpa may pop up on your list of travel destinations if you are planning a trip to Nicaragua soon. Moyogalpa is a municipality situated in the Rivas department of Nicaragua. It has great services and plenty of interesting legends, though many would not consider it to be ultimate travel destination in Nicaragua.

A Unique Tour of Hervideros de San Jacinto
If you’re visiting Nicaragua and would like to experience something somewhat unique, give the Hervideros de San Jacinto a try. The attraction is situated on the southeast flank of the Telica Volcano and it bubbles and froths busily in the shadow of this 1 060 meter smoking giant.
